Phishing

Remember, no building or district administrator will ever email you from a non-WGSD email address.

Here are some easy steps you can take to help protect yourself and the district:

  • Examine the sender’s email address and verify that it is legitimate. If you do not know the person, DELETE.
  • Do not click on links or open attachments from unsolicited senders. Are you expecting an attachment from the person who sent you the message? If not, DELETE.
  • Is there a sense of urgency in the message? "Act on this now or else." "Your current password will expire in the next 24 hours." "Send me your phone number, I need you to do me a favor." DELETE.
  • Take the time to look before you click. Clicking on an email even to read it confirms your existence to the scammers. Remember, when in doubt, throw it out.  Block the sender of the spam email and move it to the junk folder.
